The lead pastor of Victory Life Bible Church International, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, has called on fellow clerics to embody the principles they preach, emphasizing the importance of integrity and authenticity.
Speaking to newsmen in Abeokuta after the church’s crossover night service, Achudume stressed that spiritual leaders should “say what they mean and mean what they say,” living upright lives that reflect their teachings, as part of his new year message for 2026.
“We should not say something to the pulpit and do something outside the pulpit,” he cautioned, urging colleagues to shun double standards.
The apostle also sounded a warning note to Nigerian youths about the pitfalls of artificial intelligence, describing it as a potential tool for deception. “The AI stuff is full of deceitful instruments that can make individuals go astray,” Achudume said, praying that young people would return to authentic African values.
In his message to Nigerian leaders, Achudume emphasized the need for honesty and trustworthiness, urging them to use their positions to serve humanity.
He prayed for Nigeria’s greatness, agricultural prosperity, and an end to corruption.
To members of Victory Life Bible Church, Achudume stressed the importance of embracing God’s presence and avoiding Satan’s influence. “God’s presence makes the difference,” he said, citing biblical examples of Joseph and David.
According to him, the church’s 2026 theme, “On Eagles’ Wings,” symbolizes triumph over challenges and using obstacles as stepping stones to success. Achudume prophesied a year of divine breakthroughs, investment opportunities, and national progress.
