Area Command Metro Mosque: A Veritable Platform To Promote Peace Among Muslims

 

The Area Command Metro Mosque of Nigeria Police Force Ogun state Command has been described as a Veritable platform to promote peace among Muslims by commander of the command who is also the facilitator of the Mosque, ACP Haruna Adamu at the commissioning of the Mosque.

The Mosque was Commissioned by Commissioner of Police CP Abiodun Alamutu Mustapha who was represented by Sagir Ismail, deputy police in charge of finance and administration, DCP Admin, Ogun State police command on Thursday at the police command Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta, the state capital.

Speaking with the newmen, Ismail stated that the mosque will serve as a veritable platform to serve God and promote peace among Policemen and other Muslim brothers in the environment.

 

Ismail added that it will also serve as a platform for further synergy with strategic stakeholders to maintain peace in the state and Nigeria in general.

He said “The mosque is not for only police Muslim for every Muslims that want to pray, is a veritable platform to reach out to the general public, so we want to use it as a platform to preach peace”.

“The whole essence of policing is to secure the lives and property and Islam stands for peace, I commissioned the mosque today on behalf of the commissioner of Police who was unavoidably absent-minded to attend to national assignment in Abuja”.

“You can see people that outside people think, aside from the police officers, as I said earlier, it is a platform that we further synergize with important strategic stakeholders to maintain peace in the state and Nigeria in general”.

In the same development, the Area Commander, ACP Haruna Adamu who facilitated the mosque, submitted that it was to foster unity and peace among the Muslim policemen and everyone who would be coming to pray at the mosque.

He maintained that the mosque remain the first since the inception of the area command.

“When I came here there was no place to pray and for people who come here to do one thing or the other, so I just thought that would be best to have a mosque for our brothers and Muslims umah, those who are here and those who come from outside to pray, and this will foster unity among us as well”.

Also in attendance at the event are Chief Imam Muslim Secretariat Oke Ilewo, Sheikh Tajudeen; Alhaji Jimoh Popoola, (J.APopson); DPO Adigbe; Engr. Agboola; Hon. Wale Bello and others.
