Concerned members of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have initiated moves to broker peace in the Ogun State Chapter of the Party.
The intervention BY the Group of concerned party members under the auspice of NNPP PROGRESSIVES, is expected to put an end to the political crisis currently rocking the party.
The crisis have leads to the woeful outing of the party during the just concluded general polls and as a result the ugly development had divided the state chapter of the party into two factions headed by the State Chairman of the party, Comrade Olaposi Oginni and the party Governorship Candidate, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo.
The Group, in a letter signed by Secretary, Hon. Damilare Abioro, said the reconciliation meeting is already scheduled for the two warring factions on Friday, June 2, in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Abioro explained that the crisis is already eating deep into the fabric of the party, as some members are already losing their trust in the party vision and mission of a new Nigeria and new Ogun State.
The group secretary added that both Ajadi and Oginni are to come to the meeting with five members from their camps.
According to him, the NNPP Progressives will be represented by Hon. Gboyega Idowu-Jai (Yewa South), Hon. Samuel Sogbeinde (Obafemi-Owode), Hon. Damilare Abioro (Ipokia), Hon. Abiodun Ogungbe (Yewa North), Hon. Dayo Adeogun (Ado-Odo/Ota) and Hon. Adeyemi Adeluyi (Imeko Afon).
Abioro said the group is optimistic that the meeting will bring an end to the crisis and bring lasting peace into the party.
