Harvade College Holds Matriculation, Charges Students To Adhere To School Conducts

In a heartwarming event, the Harvade College of Science and Management held its first matriculation oath for verified students as they were admitted into the institution by the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Prof. Onyemachi Ogbulu.

The matriculation oath ceremony was held on Saturday at the school’s premises, Obada, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The students were charged with the need to strictly face their studies with the utmost level of seriousness, so they don’t lose the golden opportunity of acquiring a university education.

 

In his welcome address, the Vice Chancellor of Abia State University Prof. Ogbulu, who was represented by Prof. Ogbonna the Director of the Institute for Continuing Education Abia State University admitted the students and swore the matriculation oath.

He noted that there is a standard that requires every student to meet an expected standard, adding that failure to meet the standard, the university would show them a way out of the institution.

He said ” I want to welcome you all to this first Matriculation ceremony of Harvade College of Science and Management Studies, an affiliate of Abia State University. On behalf of the University Governing Council, I warmly congratulate our matriculating students, who after rigorous academic exercise gained admission into the various programs of Harvade College of Science and Management Studies an affiliate of Abia State University, Uturu”.

“The university does not compromise standards, hence you need to work hard to keep pace with the prescribed university standards”.

“There is a standard that every student must pursue to attain, failure to meet up with the expected standard the university will show you way out of the system”.

“I, therefore, charge you to all to face your studies with the utmost level of seriousness so as not to lose this golden opportunity to acquire a university education”.

In his address, the president and founder of the institution Dr. Adebayo Oluwatosin in his goodwill message, admonished the students who accepted the offer to see it as an opportunity to better themselves.

He stated that not all students who were matriculated get convocated, he maintained that the institution takes academics so seriously, therefore, if anyone was found unserious or failed he or she would be sent away from the school.

He said, “We don’t condone unserious-minded people in this institution, we have a policy and we have been doing it, the only the your parent sent you to come and do here, particularly in Abeokuta, Ogun state is to come and read, and I want to send you to your parent also, to inform them that we don’t listen to any parent that comes to beg unnecessarily”.

“After one year of your academics and your CGPA is less than 1, we will give you advice to withdraw. And nobody will listen to you, please and please prepare yourself very well and read your book very well, and lastly be at where your parent put you to be, the country is so terrible this time around don’t go around, and I pray that in the four years when you are convocating all of you will have the joy to be here”.

Also speaking the Ogun state Commissioner of Police Mustapha Alamutu who was represented by ACP Manger Fargus told the students to desist from anyone who can lure them into cultism, or any confraternity

He posited that it has become an anthem that youth are the future of the world.

Fargus expressed worry about the way young males and females who are well brought up to become important people in society, see them joining cultism rather than taking their studies seriously.

He narrated that about four people were killed in Abeokuta last Saturday, and two were shot in Ijebu yesterday.

He said, I have just a little advice for dear children, it has become the anthem that the youth are the future of the world, and the foundation to actualize this is education, Examples are there for you to see around. Unfortunately, it has become so worrisome these days, that youth who are sent to school, instead of them to study see them joining confraternity and society that it not adding any value. From the point of security, it has become worrisome, that just last weekend about four were killed in Abeokuta, and just last night two were shot this is manning the effort that parents are putting into their children, I want to beg you as your parent spend all this money on you, that you will eschew all means of being lured into a cult group.

Meanwhile, the Ogun state coordinator of JAMB Akeem Abdul Hamid who represented the JAMB registrar Prof. Isiaq Oloyede submitted that all students must ensure that they have their admission letter from JAMB in “CAP”.

He noted that without admission from JAMB, there would be problems in the future, he congratulated the students and parents on the feat.

Presents were Ogun state Coordinator of JAMB Akeem Abdul Hamid, VC Abia State University represented by Prof. J.U Ogbonna, Olu of Obada, represented by Jagunmolu of Obada Oko, Head of DSS Ewekoro Local Government, Dr. Adebayo Oluwatosin, President Harvade Intellectual group, Oyefemi Oyetunji Provost, Mr. Amos Akinabami College Bursar, Olaiya Hammed Libarian, Mr Ojo Bankole Samuel, Dean of Student Affairs, and others.
