…Berate President Over N21bn Vice President’s Residence

 

The presidential candidate of Labour party at the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi has said that the Nigeria president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has fulfilled his Campaign Promise with the present situation of the country.

Obi, who reacted to the question about the ‘1year in Office of the President’ been asked by a TV host on Arise News on Wednesday night said Tinubu fulfilled his promise by adding to the economic hardship left behind by the former president, Muhammad Buhari.

He maintained that, when president was campaigning during the 2023 general elections, he stated that, he will continue from where President Muhammad Buhari stopped.

While highlighting some of the things that affected the economic of the nation, he said “Dollars was N460 before he became president and now it is N1,500; PMS was N238 now about N700; Diesel was N844 now N1,415; Bag of Rice was N35,000 now about N80,000; Bag of Beans was N35,000 now about N90,000; Garri was N28,000 now N50,000; a Tuber of Yam was 3,000 now about 10,000; a Basket of Tomato N40,000 now about 150,000 and Electricity KW is over N200”.

While berating the President over N21bn Vice President’s residence, he stated that, if a leader meet a difficult situation, should lead by example and behave his conduct on how to manage the resources, emphasized that Nigeria today is a country with the highest of people without homes and yet spending a huge amount of money to build house for one person.

He added that, the leader should not live a flamboyant life as if there is no difficulties in the country where masses are suffering and deal with cutting the cost of governance.
