Ministerial Nomination: Ogun West Group Hails Tinubu’s Choice Of Salako

…says nomination soothing balm, timely for Yewaland

A socio-political group in Ogun West senatorial district, Yewa Youth Pacesetters, hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his nomination of the indigene of the senatorial district, Dr. Isiaq Salako, as a minister.

Salako, a former Commissioner in Ogun State and DG of YAYICO was among new ministerial nominees whose names were sent to the senate by the president.

The group in a statement by its president, Dapo Fashola, at the weekend, thanked President Tinubu for considering a person of Ogun West extraction to be part of his cabinet.

Fashola noted that Salako’s nomination did not only serve as a soothing balm for the people of Yewaland who according to him, have suffered marginalization over the years, it has equally shown that the senatorial district has an array of erudite personalities and topnotch professionals capable of making positive impact in the scheme of things.

He added that the nomination was timely, especially now when the senatorial district is preparing to produce the next governor in 2027.

He said that the YYP was at the forefront of canvassing for the ministerial slot for Ogun West, expressing delight that the group’s agitation yielded a positive outcome with the gesture of the president.

Fashola added that Salako’s nomination was a positive sign that Ogun West will henceforth enjoy a sense of belonging not only in Ogun, but in the country at large.

The YYP’s president, however, commended Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, for begining to serve the senatorial district in earnest by making strong case for the development of border communities in Ogun West, particularly, on the removal of 20km restriction on the sale of petroleum products.

While pledging that the group will continue to promote and push for the socio-economic development and political emancipation of Yewaland, Fashola called for more federal and state governments presence in the senatorial district, which he noted has not really enjoyed goodies of democracy.
