The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) Ogun state chapter has on Tuesday 16th of January, 2024 organized the new year prayer to begin the new year, where members were also Charged to be patriotic to the Association.
The prayer held at the Association Secretariat, Nawaru-deen Road, Abeokuta the state capital.
In his new year message, the National President of the Association, Comr. Taiwo Adebayo Gold, who was represented by the National General Secretary, Comr. Kikelomo Ogunsina appreciated all the members of the Association, charging them to be patriotic and be committed to the progress of the Association.
He further enjoined them not to be distracted by the action been taken by some of the past excos and members who decided to defected to another Association, stressing that FIBAN is the most recognized Association by the government.
The President however, reiterated his commitment towards the growth and development of the Association, assuring that they will not regret of been remain in FIBAN.
In his welcome address, the state chairman of the Association, Comr. Aderoju Adejare pledged his commitment towards the progress of the Association, saying that the Association still remains in other states across the country.
Aderoju, commended the members of the Association for their courage, love and commitment they have towards the Association, saying that they are worthy to celebrate.
He however, extended his appreciation to Association of Radio/Television Regular Callers of Nigeria (ARTRCON) for their presence at the new year prayer of the Association and their support towards the FIBAN members, seeking for a robust relationship between the two Associations.
The National leader and the Chairman of National Electoral Commission of the Association, (FIBAN NEC), Alhaji Adebayo Oladuni popularly known as Imalian- Boy echoed that FIBAN still remains across the federation, and described the action of those who defected to another Association as a selfishness one, disclosed that their action emanated from the sited location of College of Broadcasting, Abeokuta (COBAB) which was established by the Association where members would be professionally trained and certificated.
While commending the Executives of the Association in Ogun state, he revealed that, they have achieved a lot within the short period of time they took over the mantle of leadership, assured the members that more progressive things are on the way from the leadership of the Association.
He concluded that the leaders of the Association at the state and National level are working tirelessly for the progress of the Association and the welfarism of the members.
