The Nigeria Union of Journalists’, (NUJ) Ogun State Council, led by the Chairman, Comr. Wale Olanrewaju has visited the family of Late journalist, Wale Adewunmi to again commiserate and handover the donation of the members to the widow.
Speaking during the brief visitation to the Oluwo, Abiola way Area residence of the deceased, today( Friday ), Comr. Olanrenwaju said that the Adewunmi’s remains is in the prayers and thoughts of the council and the members at this trying period.
The Council chairman who also spoke on the university scholarship given to the eldest daughter of the deceased by a member of the Union and a Frontline Real Estate Mogul, Ambassador Babatunde Adeyemo, said the council would not leave the family in the lurch, as it would also be part of the educational progress of the eldest daughter.
” Moments we heard about demise of our colleague, we reached out to well- meaning members of the union, who contributed to ensure a befitting burial for the departed soul. After the burial rites expenses, we have a leftover and with other donations received totalled #125,000.
” That’s is why we are here to handover the #125,000 to you as well so as to take care of the home front.
” We prayed that Almighty God will strengthen and uphold you and the children, and they will attain greater heights in their endeavors “.
Responding, the wife of late Wale Adewunmi expressed utmost gratitude to the Union and the members, adding that she remained overwhelmed by the magnitude of love and supports received from the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council.
