Wale Olarewaju of the Information Chapel and Bunmi Adigun of OGTV has been elected as the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun state council and General Secretary respectively.
The duo were elected and declared winners after the Election, which held at the council secretariat, Iwe iroyin, in Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.
Wale Olanrewaju defeated his closet rival, Oluremi Olugbenro of the Paramount FM chapel with 165 votes to 149 votes, Bunmi Adigun however defeated Nike Olowe of Logic chapel with a vote of 177 to 129.
Other elective position contested for include the Vice Chairman, which Abiodun Lawal of the Correspondent Chapel clinched with 179 votes to defeat Daud Olanrewaju of Logic chapel, who had 128 votes.
Also Idris Adelakun of the OGBC chapel defeated Omowunmi Olumuyiwa of the NTA Chapel with 165 votes to 140 votes to emerged as the new Treasurer of the council.
Meanwhile, Tunde Odunewu of the information Chapel and Toyin Oyelumade of the OGBC chapel have been elected unopposed as Internal Auditor and Assistant Secretary respectively when the duo of Modupe Salabiu of the information Chapel and kunle Ibikunle of OGTV were disqualified for breached of Union rules.
