The State Coordinator, Atiku/Ladi Agbaletu group, Hon. Samson Oguntoyinbo has called on the senior citizens in Ogun state chapter of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to embark on door-to-door campaign for the party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, its governorship candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, Toyin Amuzun and other candidates of the Party in the state.
Oguntoyinbo made this call on Monday at the flag off of the Door-to-Door campaign of the group and award presentation to Chief Toyin Amuzu held at Ogun state PDP Secretariat, Abeokuta the state capital.
He maintained that, the campaign became imperative as the role of the aged cannot be underestimated.
He said, as senior citizens with years of experience in Nigeria polity, their experience in galvanizing support for the party’s candidates in their respective domains will be useful in the National Assembly and governorship elections.
“The reason for our gathering is to thank God for his protection and to launch our door-to-door campaign visit for our candidates. We believe that the role of elders cannot be underestimated, therefore, we seek your support and prayers for all our candidates.”
The candidate of PDP for Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, Hon. Toyin Amuzu advised the members of the group to start working for the victory of all PDP candidates irrespective of tribe or ethnicity.
He described Atiku as an experienced politician with years of national experience, imploring them not to limit their votes to Ogun state alone.
“This is the time to start work, this is not the time for ward meeting again, this is time to start full force campaign, vote for people who is capable not about tribalism or ethnicity.
“Tinubu is a class captain, Atiku is a senior prefect, don’t make mistake to elect those who will learn on the job, don’t restrict your votes to Ogun alone.”
Earlier in his welcome address, the state Treasurer of Ogun PDP, Mallam Bola Taiwo appreciated the members of the group for their support for the party, imploring them to deliver massive votes for all the PDP candidates.
Highlight of the event was presentation of Award to Hon. Toyin Amuzu in recognition of his outstanding performance, superior dedication, and positive impact on party members.
