Olu Of Imasayi-Yewa To Yayi: You Are A People’s Oriented Senator

 

The Olu of Imasayi-Yewa, HRM Oba Lukmon Adeleke Kuoye has described the Senator representing Ogun West in the 10th Assembly, Sen. Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi as a People’s Oriented senator on his engagement with the constituents on issue regarding empowerment and development.

Oba Kuoye stated this at the stakeholders engagement tagged, “Engagement for Development”, held on Sunday in Ilaro was called to brief the invited representatives on the impacting developmental projects, programmes and events expected to be reeled out in the coming weeks.

 

The monarch, while reacting to the engagement said the kind of representation being embarked on by the senator is a welcome one, saying that the people knows where the shoe pinches the more.

“I want to appreciate our senator for this engagement. It shows that he is a people’s oriented Senator, who want to seek opinions before embarking on any project.

“As the saying goes, ‘he who wears the shoe, knows where it pinches him’. So, we thank him and seek for support from our people for him to succeed”, he added

Meanwhile, Sen. Adeola, who doubles as the Chairman, Senate committee on Appropriation told the representative that, it is the beginning of a new dawn in the senatorial district.

“Electioneering campaign has come and gone, the elections have come and gone it is time to work, celebration party has come and gone, the Senate is inaugurated, its leadership have emerged. By the grace of God myself, your son emerged as Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation”.

“While I was going round campaigning for your votes, I said if you voted me I would give you the kind of representation that has never happened before, These will be the start of numerous benefits that will come to Ogun West through me as Senator representing you for the next 4 years”, he said.

 

Sen. Adeola while reeling out projects, programmes and events that will start in weeks for the benefit of his constituents said a mega empowerment programme will take place within the next two weeks.

The mega empowerment in his words is divided into two parts of already identified beneficiaries and that of artisan that will have to prove their qualification, with show of certificates and attendance of oral interview.

During the mega empowerment, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Appropriation revealed that 5 libraries will be built in all local government areas of Ogun West, 12 schools of 12 classrooms complete with furniture, two staff rooms, 6 toilets and a borehole will be constructed while all local government areas will also have new markets of more than 100 lockup shops complete with 6 toilets and a borehole to supply water.

 

He added that one town hall of the standard built at Empire Ground in Ilaro will be built across the five local government areas of Ogun West, 10 roads will be constructed across the senatorial district with each local government area having two, two critical care unit are to be constructed in Ota and Ilaro General Hospitals.

Included in the list of developmental projects for the good people of Ogun West are the construction of primary health care centres for OOU Ayetoro complete with an ambulance, distribution of transformers across communities in the five local government areas making up Ogun West, supply of one grader per local government and one tractor per local government areas to aid farming activities in Ogun West.

“Our farmers, It is because of you that I am a member of Senate Committee on Agriculture, reason is that I was careful in chosing my committee membership, I know my constituents are predominantly into agriculture., There are lots of federal government programs I can attract into my senatorial district. That is why I have chosen to be a member of Senate Committee on Agriculture”, he noted

The ranking Senator added that “i equally decided to be member of Senate committee on health. It was strategic and for a reason be because I want to ensure that the health sector in my Senatorial District is second to none. There are more committees that I am a member of”

Also to be expected by the good people of Ogun West as democratic dividends from their representative, Adeola are one security vehicle to areas commands across Ogun West, 35 thousand textbooks to our pupils in primary and secondary schools, improved seedlings with one trailer of fertilizer for farmers and 50 tricycles to all relevant stakeholders in Ogun West, 50 mini buses to all relevant stakeholders and over 100 sewing machines.

Also, more than 400 hundred hair dryers, over 250 vulcanizing machines, more than 400 welding machines, drugs to all primary healthcare centres in Ogun West, Introduction of Yayi Free Medical Service which will take place in all the local government areas for a minimum of four days. where people will be 3 given Digi Yayi for eye problem BP treatment . Senator Adeola disclosed that it is time to reap dividends of democracy and not for campaigning. He explained that Ogun State stands better chance because Governor Dapo Abiodun is not only working very closely with the current president, he is one of the closest allies of the president. That according to the Senator will attract meaningful development to Ogun State.

“We are all aware that more than 60 to 70 percent of our roads are federal roads. We need maximum cooperation with the federal government so that all Federal roads embarked upon by our governor in Ogun State will be attended to and all our monies paid back to us in the state”, he added
