…as the company hosts Odunlade Adekola at Post-Budget Retreat, Team-bonding dinner
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pomegranate Nigeria Ltd (PNL), Wole Elusakin, has welcomed the tax harmonization by the federal government of Nigeria, saying it will help to curb multiple billings and extortion of businesses by government tax collectors.
Elusakin, who stated this on Friday at the company’s annual Post-Budget Retreat and Team-bonding dinner tagged “Nothing Is Impossible”, held at South Kitchen, Providence event centre, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, also lamented on how Nigerians see traveling abroad to seek greener pastures as the best option to overcome life challenges, especially the economic downturn in the country.

He urged that there is a need for government at all levels to unify the taxation of business owners, in order not to bounce back on consumers or affect the profitability of the businesses, adding that most of their billings are not visible to the government, which needs a quick action.
While emphasizing the company’s people-first philosophy, the CEO said, “Targets have been set, but it is people who drive targets. Those same people must carry positive energy into the year. We are nothing without our people, and that is why PNL remains a people-centric organisation.”

“The retreat was designed to strengthen collaboration, reinforce shared values, and energise the team ahead of the company’s ambitious growth targets,” says Elusakin.
As part of the team-bonding activities, staff visited key tourist and cultural landmarks in Abeokuta, including the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, the wildlife park, water park, and the iconic Olumo Rock, fostering camaraderie while celebrating Nigeria’s rich heritage.
The highlight of the evening dinner was the presence of renowned Nollywood actor and cultural icon, _Odunlade Adekola_, who encouraged the team to remain diligent and principled, stressing the importance of hard work and earning an honest living as the foundation for sustainable progress and positive impact.
Harping on teamwork, unity, and perseverance among PNL team, the cultural icon also presented a Leadership Award to Dorathy Okunoye, who emerged as the outstanding manager in recognition of her excellence in people leadership, team development, and operational execution.
The evening also provided a platform for engaging discussions between Odunlade Adekola and the PNL leadership, where The Founder/CEO, Wole Elusakin, announced that Pomegranate Nigeria Ltd will soon be launching PNLHub, Africa’s first cargo-hailing ride platform, and the app is already available for download on Android (Play Store) and iOS, with web access via (link unavailable).
