The President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari has paid tribute to late formal judge of World Court and former minister for justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Bola Ajibola.
President Buhari who was represented by the Chief of Staff to the president, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari described the jurist as man of integrity who used all his life to serve his God and also had impact in people and the society as large.
Buhari stated this on Sunday at the 8th Day Fidau Prayer of Prince Ajibola held at Crescent University, Abeokuta the Ogun State capital.
According to him “Bola Ajibola is a true an Africanist and world class jurist as well as uncommon philanthropist. As foremost lawyer in Nigeria, his public service was tremendous. He has been an Icon in the legal profession, he has been exemplary as minister, he distinguished himself as a member of international court of justice,” he said.
“In all these, Prince Ajibola has made Nigeria proud and flew our flag with champ and distinction. He spent all his financial resources that he has to establish Crescent University. His devotion to Islamic scholarship our Education and unique contribution can never be forgotten,” he said.
“The best way we can honour the late justice, is to emulate his life. The kind of characteristics and character of his integrity, commitment, contribution and sacrifice,” he concluded.
Earlier the Executive governor of the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun also described his demise as a big lost to Ogun state and Nigeria as a whole.
In his sermon, the guest lecturer and the Grand Mufty of Ilorin, Sheikh Sulyman Faruq Onikijipa Onikijipa children to emulate their father and always do good in return of their father reward.
