President Tinubu Bows To Pressure, Suspends Humanitarian Affairs Minister

 

The Nigeria President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, with immediate effect.

President Tinubu however, directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the financial transactions of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as well as its affiliated agencies.

This was revealed in statement issued on Monday by the Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), Chief Ajuri Ngelale.

You will recall that, in a couple of days there was an allegation leveled against the ministry for transaction of N585M to personal account.
