Ramadan 1444 A.H (2023): England FA To Allow Muslim Players Break Fast During EPL Matches

 

Ahead of the Muslims Holy Month of Ramadan billed to commence on Thursday, the England Football Association FA has initiated guidelines to allow Muslim players to break their fast during league matches.

According to Sky sports, Match officials have been issued guidance so players can break their fast by taking on liquids, energy gels or supplements on the touchline during a pause in the middle of a match.

They have also been encouraged to always try and identify any players who may need to break their fast during the game ahead of match kick off including where possible to agree a rough time for this to happen.

A number of muslim players including Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Manchester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Chelsea’s Ngolo Kante, are expected to fast this Month Ramadan, which starts on Thursday and will last a month.
