Recession: Ogun Cooperative Community Call On Nigerians To Join Cooperatives

The “Irepodun Egbasowapo  Cooperative” in Ogun state  has callad on Nigerians who are not into any cooperative to go and join one.

The cooperative gave the call through her state coordinator,Cooperator Salimot Adewusi during her 1st year annual general meeting held at Obada.

Cooperator Salimot while speaking with Journalists said the call is imperative because no one knows where Nigeria is going with the high rate of the economy.

She admonished that anyone who is not into cooperative should try and get one which 8s govt approved, because not every business owners has money, not every car owners has money, not every house owners has the money but through cooperative many have been able to achieve what they have.

While calling on the government at all levels to always check on cooperatives organization, they should not say because they are not the one financing them and feels they should abandon cooperatives,it’s not Ok but at least check up in once or twice in a month is ok.

Meanwhile the annual general meeting started with a sensitization walk to invite anyone who which to join cooperatives but does not know how.

“For me cooperative is good and achievable,I will advice that anyone who is not into any cooperative should try and look for a good and trust worthy cooperative to join. No one has the money but the little you drop every week is something by the time you want to collect loan with low interest of just #15 on every #1000 you borrow. And for cooperative loans the better your performance the lower your low.

Not every house or car owners has the money before but they have been able to achieve these with cooperative.

Also government at all levels should try and be checking up on cooperative organization the fact that the government is not financing us does not mean they can check on what we are up to or what we do”
