…Says Abiodun Will Recruit Hoodlums in to State Policing
The gubernatorial candidate of People Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu has opined that the state Policing that people are agitating for cannot give expected result under the government of the incumbent governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
He added that, Gov. Abiodun will recruit Hoodlums in to state Policing to intimidate the opposition parties and the general public.
Adebutu stated this on Thursday at the Media Parly held at Conference Hall, Park In Hotel, Abeokuta the state capital.
He disclosed that, the crises in ruling party APC is more than the crises in his party PDP but not reported by media, adding that those journalists that reported the unlawful act of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun during the Presidential and National Assembly elections are so commendable.
He however, pledged to run a media accessible government if elected as the state governor.
“The idea of state Police cannot work in our society today. Can you imagine if we have state Police in the hand of somebody like Dapo Abiodun. In Ofada during the last elections they started shooting, defranchised them, they were not allowed to vote. Is these hoodlums they will recruit and turn to state Police. The moment they started inspecting all election materials, all these rubbish were discovered. Now how do we now have state Police,” he said.
“Repeatedly we were told that there is crises in PDP and i told them there is crises in APC than PDP but nobody report it. You have duties to do as well. At the last elections day, I was happy to see some people that bold enough to report that the governor was driving round contrarily to the election act and sharing Money,” he disclosed.
“I give you my word. If we got to the government, you will have good access to me. At least we can have relationship that will better for all in the State. Also, there is going to be a recognition in all aspects of government. I hereby implore you; let us be partners,” he pledged.
In his remark, the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun State Council, Comr. Wale Olanrewaju appreciated the Hon. Adebutu for having interaction with his members and implored him to bridge the gap between him and media professioners, stressing that, he should shun those that are giving him bad report about the Union.
He added that, Hon. Adebutu has proved to the Union that he is more better than others, and it is a must for him to fulfil all his promises to the people of the state and the Union.
