Yoruba Sport Presenters Association Appoints Moje Queens FC Chairman, Chief Awolola As Patron

 

Yoruba Sport Presenters Association of Nigeria, Kwara State Chapter has appointed the Chairman of Moje Queens Football Club, Chief Muritala Olabanji Awolola as patron, the Association through her secretary described the philanthropist as a blessing to mankind. Chief Awolola popularly called Ọmọosajeun is widely known for is generosity and impacts in youths and sports development.

Chief Muritala Olabanji Awolola in his reaction, thanked the league of Yoruba Sport Presenters for the special recognition, he said the appointment will spur him to do more in youth capacity building.

He described sports as tools to eradicate cultism, hooliganism, ritual killings and drug abuse among youths.

Chief Awolola stressed that Sports can be used to engage youths, most especially at the grassroots, adding that he is ready to put in all effort within his power to promote Sports in the state. He implored youths to embrace and engage themselves in sports.

While speaking, he explained that, not seeing Yoruba players representing the female national teams at all levels from Yoruba land spured the establishment of Moje Queens, so that it can be an avenue for female yoruba footballers to showcase their potentials.

He advised that youths who takes sports as profession to do it along with education, so that they can have something to fall back on after their careers or if they sustain any injuries that might halt their career.

The patron charged the government to give all necessary support to sports from the grassroots. He however called on the government to deem it feet to appoint those who are passionate and know much about sports in sports sector in other help it grow.

Also he encouraged members of YOSPAN to use their wealth of experience and their platforms to promote sports from the grassroots.
